Born in 1986, Raphaël Federici lives and works in Paris. A veritable trotting globe, he does not hesitate to drop his anchor in the four corners of the world to leave his mark and feed his multiple, unlabelled yet so powerful and familiar art.
As a multi-talented visual artist, he asserts it himself: drawing is the basis of everything. From a father who was an illustrator, he was passionate about drawing from an early age. He first tried his hand on the walls of Marseille during his studies. But it was in Paris that he got his start and met a group of Street Artists who taught him the collage technique. It is then that he discovers the adrenalin of the forbidden and the constraint of haste: sensations that still animate him today and push him to take over the walls at nightfall.
Finally, street art is not his only asset since he also works in his studio in a totally different approach, on canvas but also on other supports. His constantly evolving work has enabled him to gain international renown.
Although he is capable of large scale murals and is today a reference in this field, Raphaël Federici does not define himself as a Street Artist. Indeed, his work in the studio allows him to give free rein to a process of introspection and externalization of sensations, through a neo-pop-expressionist art.
His passion for drawing gives him a technique that allows him to try his hand at many artistic experiments. Also, his studio serves as a laboratory where he explores different currents, from very distant styles, to constantly reinvent himself.
Several artists have been important in his career: among them Gotlib, Levalet and Banksy. Unlike the latter, he chooses not to convey a political message, but only a very personal work, rich with his travels, his African roots and his great experience as an artist.
